Move with Mika aims to provide quality and comprehensive fitness and wellness services in order to help all of our clients to move and feel better. Mika is a fully certified Pilates Mat and Fitness instructor who also has many certificates including; therapeutic techniques, children's fitness and nutrition. We invite you to join us and open your heart and mind to the exciting prospects and possibilities that we have in store for you.

My Story
I was an on-air personality for 24 years on CP24, and 2 of Toronto's number 1 morning shows, CP24 Breakfast and City Tv's Breakfast Television, radio stations; Newstalk 1010 and 680 News. I was waking up at 3am, Monday to Friday, and it was taking a toll on me. I needed to keep both my body and mind in balance, and I found the answer in Pilates. Movement has always played an important role in my life, I loved gymnastics, swimming and participating in sports in my younger years and how it made me feel. I have always had a passion for how the human body moves and the potential it has and how it is connected to mind and spirit.
I immersed myself in the various methods of Pilates in 2001, adding weights and props as I progressed. I continued practicing during my pregnancies and postnatal (one was a natural birth and the other a Caesarean) I had endometriosis and pelvic tumour surgeries.
In 2015 I got my PiYo certification, a class combining Pilates and Yoga and started teaching group classes. In 2018 I started training to obtain my certification in the Joseph Pilates method.

In May of 2021, after I received my full Pilates certification, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of blood Cancer. I did 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy treatments and 30 days of radiation. Pilates restored my body, flexibility, strength and mental wellbeing and still does. I believe and trust in the Pilates method. Pilates is for everybody and every body.

I also love to spend time with my family and friends especially outdoors. I love to read, listen to music, dance, eat and travel. I will do Pilates all over the world. I look forward to moving with you.

Beginners to Modified
Learn the fundamentals, the moves, improve posture, core strength, flexibility, balance, transition of exercise, as well as helps to decrease back and joint pain and stress. Gentle enough for all levels and a great way to start.

Beginner to Intermediate
For anyone who has a good to
solid understanding of the moves, transition and pace of the class. For Students who have been taking Beginners classes and would like to level up and are ready for deeper core strength, use props and able to move a little faster.

Studio Policy and Procedures
Please stay home if you exhibit flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, breathing difficulties or a rise in temperature.
​
Please remove outdoor footwear at the door, on the mats. Indoor footwear or socks only allowed inside the studio.
After class, if you wish to chat with another participant, please exit fitness area so it can be cleaned and sanitized for the next class.
Payment for classes or Private Training sessions are due before the start of the class.
In the event of a class or session cancelled by the studio, you will not be charged for that session.
Please arrive a minimum of 5 minutes prior to your class start time to allow for proper set up time and limit any distraction to other participants by late arrival.
Please silence electronic devices upon entering studio.
All class passes will expire 6 months from date of purchase and are non- refundable.

Equipment needed:
A comfortable thick non slip exercise mat, comfortable clothing, a towel and a water bottle.
